I loved this product at first. I followed all of the use directions. After a few months they rusted even with hand washing after letting it soak and air dry. The knife completely broke in half while cutting a tomato and I have no idea how to replace it so to me the one missing knife makes the whole set look incomplete and ruins it for me. Do not purchase, waste of money. How does a knife brake like that!?Great knives in terms of craftsmanship, quality, design, and function. Love always having the perfect knife for the job, now owning some new knives that have proven useful when needed (meat cleaver, peeler, etc). The kitchen sheers are awesome being solid stainless steel with no plastic, but note they are heavy and not very comfortable to use. The 4 stars is because I received serrated steak knives, not the fine edge that the description stated. I specifically wanted fine edge steak knives, so this was important to me. I called Angela at Cangshan who was nice and explained that it must have been old Amazon stock. I could return the set to Amazon and then re-buy with no guarantee that I would get the fine edge on the re-order (because she had no way of knowing what Amazon actually had on the shelf). Because I wanted these knives for the holidays, to repack the entire set for return and not know what I would receive next was not a good option. So I accepted the offer to ship just the 8 serrated steak knives back directly to her at Cangshan, to be exchanged for the correct fine edge. I told her I was not happy that I had to pay for return shipping of the incorrect product, but she said they would not cover it. Unfortunately it took almost 3 weeks in total to get them back and I only received 7 knives in error. Angela apologized again and shipped the other knife, along with a gift for the aggravation. So, in summary I am very happy with the product, but it was a disappointing customer experience that didn't fit with the higher end price point expectations. Problems will happen to every business - how they are taken care of makes all the difference. It could have been made much better from the start by providing a return shipping label instead of making me pay $14 to ship the incorrect products back to them. Then, getting the exchange done promptly and correct the first time, with better than the slowest shipping back to me, would have been good. The overall process took several calls, emails, and too long - over a month to complete. After over three years of use I am still extremely satisfied with this purchase. I use these knives three to four times a day with the pictured chef knife being used literally everyday. The knives all came extremely sharp and held its sharp edge for a long time. The chef knife has been sharpened only twice while some of the less commonly used knives have never been sharpened and remain extremely sharp after three years.I am somewhat an excessive compulsive when it comes to having high quality sharp knives. Immediately after using the knives I always: 1.) Hand wash the knives 2.) Hand dry the knives 3.) Replace the knives in their wood blockUnder these conditions I expect these knives will be in service another ten years.14c28n is stainless steel made by the Sandvik group, a Swedish engineering company. Sandvik is known around the world for its high-quality metal-related products. 14c28n steel has a high Chromium and Carbon percentage. That mixture has one goal in mind: making a great steel for people worried about rust and corrosion.14% of Chromium: Increases corrosion resistance and wear resistance. It also improves edge retention and strength.0.62% of Carbon: Makes knives harder and more resistant. Too much Carbon could prove counterproductive – but this knife has the right amount.0.6% of Manganese: Improves brittleness and hardness.0.2% of Silicon: Adds strength to the steel.0.11% of Nitrogen: Helps with strength (like Silicon) and edge retention (like the Chromium).0.025% of Phosphorus: Similarly to Nitrogen and Silicon, it increases strength.0.01% of Sulfur: Increases the steel’s machinability level. What does that mean? Simply put, 14c28n is great for kitchen knives and pocket knives. You will have no issue when it comes to dealing with different types of food and similar things that might corrode and rust a less resistant knife. All knives will rust under the right circumstances. I can't even imagine what people are doing to these knives who have written reviews complaining about the knives rusting.Take care of the knives and they will take care of you.....I have not received anything for this review. These knives are very sharp! They need to be towel dried right after hand washing every time they are used which becomes very redundant and inconvenient at times. It makes me not even want to use them in some instances where I would not hesitate to reach for the knife block with my old set. 3 out of 5 just for the inconvenience. Also, the slits in the handles are very hard to dry. 5 out of 5 for sharpness.Best knives I’ve ever used great quality look great really sturdy & value for moneyGreat set. Took one star off for a simple reason. The knife slots should be slanted into the block. As it is right now, you have to pull the block set out from under your cupboard because there isn’t enough room to pull the knives straight up. If the slots where on a slant, it would solve this minor problem.Nice sharp knives and good value at $111.37. The ad refers to Swedish steel and being an Australian company, but no reference to country of manufacture. Wait until it is on sale.Very good quality, sharp knives. Between the two sizes they can be used for almost any job. Really nice balance on the handle.Excelente set. Tienen un filo increíble y lucen muy bien sobre la barra de la cocina son recomendables al 100%
